UNOS Online Receives International Association Web Award

Richmond, Va. -- The United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) Web site, UNOS Online, has added another Web award to its growing list of accolades. The "Golden Web Award" is given to sites by the International Association of Web Masters and Designers in recognition of creativity, integrity and excellence on the Web.

UNOS Online is an important resource for the transplant community. It provides an immense array of facts, data and resources about organ transplantation and allocation to its many visitors including transplant patients, members, and the media 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), a nonprofit charitable organization, maintains the nation's organ transplant waiting list under contract with the Health Resources and Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. UNOS brings together, under that contract and on behalf of the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN), medical professionals, transplant recipients and donor families to develop organ transplantation policy. UNOS provides the OPTN with a functional, effective management system incorporating the UNOS Board of Directors, committees and regional membership structure to operate OPTN elements and activities.
