Microsoft Acknowledges UNOS in Case Study
Microsoft acknowledged UNOS' successful blend of Internet and Microsoft tools in a case study. The programming giant reviewed the UNOS operation and its accomplishment.
UNOS is pleased to be recognized by Microsoft with the Windows DNA case study found at the Microsoft Web site.
UNOS sought a solution to enable communication between its 200 employees and 4,000 online users in hospitals, transplant centers and organ procurement centers. The answer was a combination of Internet-based communication and Microsoft tools, including Windows 2000, to provide a secure, interactive platform for the exchange and delivery of transplant data.
UNOS maintains the national Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network, as well as the U.S. Scientific Registry on Organ Transplantation. UNOS also collects, analyzes, and publishes more data on a single field of medicine than any other U.S. organization.
