OPTN/UNOS OPO Technology Consensus Conference
The second OPTN/UNOS OPO Technology Consensus Conference met in San Antonio, Texas on March 1-2, 2005. The objectives of the conference were to develop consensus on a data model for communicating donor information; discuss data privacy and security issues; exchange information for obtaining Internet access in donor hospitals; and to discuss the development of standards for data, technologies, security and processes. The two-day conference was attended by 81 individuals, representing 41 organ procurement organizations (OPOs), 4 transplant centers, and various other agencies and organizations.
