Patricia A. Sheiner, M.D., FRCS(C), FACS, is director of liver transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery and vice chair of the department of surgery at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y., and professor of surgery at New York Medical College, also in Valhalla.

She is a member of the OPTN/UNOS membership and professional standards committee and its policy compliance subcommittee. She serves on the review board (liver) for her region. She also has been a member of the OPTN/UNOS liver and intestinal organ transplantation committee.

In addition to her OPTN/UNOS service, Dr. Sheiner is vice president of the New York Center for Liver Transplantation (NYCLT) and serves on its medical board. She also chaired the NYCLT's clinical policy committee.

Dr. Sheiner earned her medical degree from McGill University Faculty of Medicine in Montreal, Canada.
