Deborah O. Crowe, Ph.D., D(ABHI), is director of the HLA laboratory at DCI [Dialysis Clinic Inc.] Laboratory in Nashville, Tenn.

She is a past chair of the OPTN/UNOS histocompatibility committee; she has served as a member of the committee numerous times since 1993.

Dr. Crowe is president-elect of the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI) and also has served as ASHI's program director, co-chair of its accreditation review board and as an ASHI councillor. She has been president of the American Board of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics and chair of the South-Eastern Organ Procurement Foundation (SEOPF) histocompatibility committee. She is an active member of the Tennessee Transplant Society.

She earned a doctorate in microbiology and immunology at the University of Louisville, Ky. She is board-certified as a diplomate of the American Board of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics.
