Arthur J. Matas, M.D. (ASTS), is professor of surgery and director of the renal transplant program at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Dr. Matas is immediate past president of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS). He is an associate editor of the American Journal of Transplantation and on the editorial boards of Transplantation, Clinical Transplantation, Pediatric Transplantation and Transplantation Science.

He earned his medical degree at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada.
