Catherine A. Garvey, RN, B.A., CCTC, is living donor transplant coordinator at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis.

She is president of NATCO, the Organization for Transplant Professionals. She has served on NATCO's board of directors since 2005 and in that year received NATCO's quality of care award. She also is a member of the advisory committee for the National Living Donor Assistance Center and previously was secretary/treasurer for the Renal Network of the Upper Midwest. In 2008, Twin Cities Business Magazine gave Garvey its "health care hero for nursing" award.

She earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minn.
