Amy Shorin-Silverstein

Amy Shorin-Silverstein, J.D., formerly general counsel at the Topps Co. Inc., an international marketer of entertainment and confectionary products, is a writer with a book due to be released internationally this year. Screen rights have also been optioned to the book, in which Shorin-Silverstein provides a unique take on her transplant experience.

Shorin-Silverstein served two years as a member of the OPTN/UNOS transplant coordinators committee.

With her family, she helped to plan the Arthur and Beverly Shorin Comprehensive Transplant Center at Columbia University, which opened its doors about eight years ago. She then continued to collaborate with her father to bring 24/7 care for outpatient transplant patients to the center, and the Shorin Urgent Care Center began operations last spring.

Silverstein earned a doctorate of jurisprudence degree from New York University School of Law, finishing her final years of studies after receiving a heart transplant (1988).
