James J. Wynn, M.D., is chief of transplant surgery, professor of surgery and Mason Distinguished Chair in Transplant Surgery and Immunology at the Medical College of Georga in Augusta.

Dr. Wynn has served on the OPTN/UNOS policy oversight committee, OPTN/UNOS kidney transplantation committee as well as its kidney allocation review subcommittee (KARS). He also has served on the OPTN/UNOS membership and professional standards committee and as chair of the OPTN/UNOS kidney and pancreas transplantation committee.

In addition to his OPTN/UNOS service, he has been chair of the SRTR (Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients) technical advisory committee. He also served in a number of positions with the South-Eastern Organ Procurement Foundation (SEOPF), including a term as president.

He earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.
