The Advanced Provider III position is responsible for the delivery of patient care in their area of specialty through the process of assessment; evaluation; diagnosing; recognition and prevention of adverse event; planning; and implementation. Performs responsibilities in four areas of practice: clinician, teacher, leadership and professional development. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe; effective and efficient patient care delivery; and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Continuously monitors quality patient care through excellence in customer service and performance improvement that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.


The Advanced Provider III typically practice as hospital based specialists; may act as a surgical assist and perform inpatient procedures. Has night and weekend shift rotations and call coverage responsibilities. Cares for high acuity patients in a fast paced and unpredictable environment. May work without immediate physician supervision. Examples include ICU APs; ED APs; Surgical subspecialties APs, etc.



Graduate from a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
Experience Preferred in area of specialty
BLS is required. ACLS may be required as identified/area of specialty.
Certification by the America College of Nurse-Midwifes (ACNM) and American Certification Council (ACC) is required for Nurse Midwives.
Currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
Other: Must meet credentialing requirements as established by the LMHS Medical Staff Services department. Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and customer service skills required.
