UNOS employee receives AOPO executive director’s award

The Association for Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) has given UNOS biostatistician/senior performance analyst John Rosendale its 2014 executive director’s award. The award was presented to Rosendale at AOPO’s annual meeting, held June 17–20 in Baltimore.

The award recognizes individuals outside the OPO community who have influenced and impacted the work and mission of OPOs.

Rosendale joined UNOS nearly 20 years ago and, since then—in addition to his work as a biostatistician—he has served the donation and transplantation community in a number of ways.

Most currently, he is helping to develop and coordinate the electronic tracking and transport (ETT) project—a collaboration between UNOS and HRSA—that will streamline the process of labeling organs for transplant and reduce the potential for human error. He also is the author and co-author of numerous publications and a frequent presenter on donation and transplantation.
